Can You Take 5-Amino-1MQ With Tirzepatide or Semaglutide?

This page covers how each works, what the evidence honestly says, the safety points that matter, the FUSION Blend, how the injections fit together, and how to add 5-Amino-1MQ properly. Everything here applies to semaglutide the same way.

5-Amino-1MQ (Injectable)
5-Amino-1MQ$219/mo

5-Amino-1MQ can be prescribed alongside tirzepatide or semaglutide, and some physicians prescribe them together, because they act through entirely different mechanisms: tirzepatide works on appetite and gut-hormone receptors, while 5-Amino-1MQ is a small molecule described in mouse and cell work as blocking an enzyme in fat cells called NNMT. There is no human study of the combination and no human trial of 5-Amino-1MQ of any kind, so there is no data on whether it adds anything to a GLP-1 medication. Its research is in mice. Because NNMT also processes some foreign compounds, every medication and supplement you take belongs on your intake before the two are combined.

Every price is all-in, covering medication, physician review, refill management and shipping, with no membership fee. The GLP-1 prices are "from" prices because the vials are dose-specific. Compounded medications are not FDA approved.

Can You Take 5-Amino-1MQ With Tirzepatide or Semaglutide?

Two medications with nothing in common mechanically

What tirzepatide does

Tirzepatide is a single peptide that activates two incretin receptors, GIP and GLP-1. It acts on appetite centres in the brain, slows gastric emptying and changes insulin and glucagon signalling, and the weight change reported in its trials follows from people eating less over a long period. Semaglutide does the same through one receptor, GLP-1. The full reference is what is tirzepatide.

What 5-Amino-1MQ is described to do

5-Amino-1MQ is a small molecule, not a peptide, developed by a medicinal chemistry group at the University of Texas Medical Branch. It is designed to inhibit nicotinamide N-methyltransferase (NNMT), an enzyme that takes nicotinamide, the form of vitamin B3 cells recycle into NAD+, and attaches a methyl group to it so it is excreted instead. A 2014 paper in Nature reported NNMT expression rising in the fat and liver of obese mice, and knocking the enzyme down protected them against diet-induced obesity. In cultured fat cells, a 2018 paper in Biochemical Pharmacology reported NNMT inhibitors raising intracellular NAD+ and suppressing the building of new fat.

It is not a GLP-1 medication, a stimulant or a thermogenic, and it does not contain NAD+. The 2018 mouse work reported total food intake unchanged in treated animals, so no appetite effect is expected. The full reference is what is 5-Amino-1MQ, and why it is not a peptide is in is 5-Amino-1MQ a peptide.

What the evidence shows, honestly

  • No study of the combination

No study, in people or animals, has tested 5-Amino-1MQ with tirzepatide or semaglutide. Some physicians prescribe them together because the mechanisms are unrelated, but there is no data on whether 5-Amino-1MQ adds anything. Any claim that the pairing works better than the GLP-1 alone has nothing behind it.

  • 5-Amino-1MQ's own evidence is in mice

The main evidence is diet-induced obese mice. The 2018 Biochemical Pharmacology study reported reduced body weight and white fat mass with food intake unchanged. A 2024 paper in Diabetes, Obesity and Metabolism dosed it once daily for 28 days and reported limited weight and fat gain, improved glucose tolerance and insulin sensitivity, and normalised liver enzymes in obese mice. A 2022 Scientific Reports study paired it with a diet switch in mice and reported the combination doing more than the diet switch alone.

None of that has been tested for translation to people. Mouse body-composition findings frequently do not translate, and as of September 2026 there are no human trials registered under the compound's name. The honest framing is "described in mouse and cell research and used clinically," not "shown to work in people." The detail is in 5-Amino-1MQ benefits.

  • What that means for the pairing

Tirzepatide has a very large human evidence base in its branded form. 5-Amino-1MQ has none. Putting them together does not borrow tirzepatide's evidence for the second medication. A physician prescribing the pair is relying on an unrelated mechanism and clinical experience, which is a legitimate basis for a prescription, but not evidence of a combined effect. The wider set of pairings is in what peptides can you take with tirzepatide, and how 5-Amino-1MQ compares with the other metabolic options is in MOTS-c vs SLU-PP-332 vs 5-Amino-1MQ.

Can You Take 5-Amino-1MQ With Tirzepatide or Semaglutide?

Safety points when the two are combined

  • The theoretical interaction point

NNMT, the enzyme 5-Amino-1MQ blocks, also methylates some foreign compounds, so in principle blocking it could change how some drugs are handled. Nothing is known about whether that matters in practice, and no study has tested it with tirzepatide, semaglutide or anything else. There is no established interaction list. That is why the intake asks for every medication and supplement you take, including vitamins and B3 forms, and why a physician reviews it rather than a form.

  • Telling side effects apart

What prescribers see with 5-Amino-1MQ injections is mostly at the injection site: redness, mild soreness and occasional bruising. Beyond that there is no reliable list, because there is no human trial. Tirzepatide's common side effects are gastrointestinal, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea and reflux, concentrated around starting and each dose step. Starting 5-Amino-1MQ on a different date from a GLP-1 dose step makes it much easier to tell which medication is behind a new symptom. See tirzepatide side effects and 5-Amino-1MQ side effects.

  • Oral medications, blood sugar and the GLP-1

GLP-1 medications slow gastric emptying, which affects oral medications; oral contraceptives may be absorbed less reliably for four weeks after starting tirzepatide and after each dose increase. On its own tirzepatide rarely causes low blood glucose, but the risk rises with insulin or a sulfonylurea. These points come from the GLP-1 medication, and they belong on the intake alongside 5-Amino-1MQ.

  • Who should not take 5-Amino-1MQ

    Situation Status
Pregnancy or breastfeeding Not used; safety data is absent
Taking several prescription medications Needs discussion, because of the theoretical interaction point
Tested athletes Check the current prohibited list for your sport, and tell your physician
Previous reaction to 5-Amino-1MQ or an ingredient of the vial Rules it out
Under 18 Pepti prescribes to adults only

Can You Take 5-Amino-1MQ With Tirzepatide or Semaglutide?

What not to combine

Combination Why not
Tirzepatide with semaglutide Both act at the GLP-1 receptor, so combining them stacks the side effects with no mechanism gained
5-Amino-1MQ alone plus FUSION FUSION already contains 5-Amino-1MQ; adding the single vial changes a dose without anyone deciding it should change
5-Amino-1MQ drawn into the same syringe as tirzepatide Each label's directions are calculated for that vial alone; never mix vials
5-Amino-1MQ bought as "research use only" Nobody is accountable for identity, purity, sterility or concentration
Several new medications started in the same fortnight If something changes, nobody can tell which one caused it

Can You Take 5-Amino-1MQ With Tirzepatide or Semaglutide?

5-Amino-1MQ in the FUSION Blend

FUSION puts 5-Amino-1MQ in one vial with BPC-157, MOTS-c and tesamorelin, and it is positioned for use with or without a GLP-1.

Detail Value
What is in it 10 mg BPC-157, 10 mg MOTS-c, 10 mg 5-Amino-1MQ and 15 mg tesamorelin in 5 mL
Typical directions 0.25 mL (25 units) subcutaneously once daily Monday through Friday
5-Amino-1MQ per dose 0.5 mg (2 mg/mL x 0.25 mL), twice the 0.25 mg from the standalone vial
Price $279/mo

In a blend, the considerations are those of every ingredient. Tesamorelin raises growth hormone and IGF-1 and reduces insulin sensitivity, while GLP-1 medications act in the other direction, so glucose is the thing a physician watches with FUSION alongside a GLP-1. MOTS-c is associated with transient jitteriness, a faster pulse or mild light-headedness after a dose, mostly early on. Prescribers using FUSION alongside a GLP-1 describe less of the gut discomfort patients associate with the GLP-1; that has not been tested in a trial. No study has tested the blend as a blend. More in what is FUSION.

How the injections fit together

5-Amino-1MQ Tirzepatide
Vial 5 mL at 1 mg/mL 2 mL, concentration set by strength
Typical directions 0.25 mL (25 units) subcutaneously, Monday through Friday 0.50 mL (50 units) subcutaneously, once weekly
Per dose 0.25 mg 5-Amino-1MQ (1 mg/mL x 0.25 mL) Your weekly strength, from 2.5 mg to 15 mg
Doses per vial 20, four working weeks 4, four weeks
Refills Every 28 days, one vial per fill Every 28 days, one vial per fill

They are separate injections from separate vials, each drawn with its own sterile syringe, and never mixed. Subcutaneous means into the fat layer, not the muscle; rotate between the abdomen and thigh. Both arrive as ready-to-use solutions with directions printed on the vial. The arithmetic is in 5-Amino-1MQ dosage and tirzepatide dosing chart.

Can You Take 5-Amino-1MQ With Tirzepatide or Semaglutide?

Semaglutide works the same way

Everything above applies to semaglutide. It acts at one incretin receptor where tirzepatide acts at two, but both work through appetite and gastric emptying, and 5-Amino-1MQ acts on neither. The same caveats apply: no study of the combination, no human trial of 5-Amino-1MQ, and the theoretical interaction point. The comparison of the two GLP-1 medications is in semaglutide vs tirzepatide.

How to add 5-Amino-1MQ to a GLP-1 properly

  1. Name the goal, not the molecule. Tell your physician what you hope to change, so they can say whether 5-Amino-1MQ, a blend or nothing extra fits.
  2. List everything. Every prescription, supplement and vitamin, because of the NNMT interaction point.
  3. Start one thing at a time. Avoid starting it in the same week as a GLP-1 dose step.
  4. Report what happened, including nothing. With no human trial data, your reports are part of how your physician judges what is happening.

Your physician sets your directions after reviewing your intake, and every vial arrives with its directions printed on the label. The longer version is in can you take two peptides together.

Where 5-Amino-1MQ stands with the FDA

5-Amino-1MQ is not an FDA-approved drug or a component of one, and has no USP monograph. It does not appear in Category 1, 2 or 3 of the FDA's list of bulk substances nominated for 503A compounding, as updated 14 May 2026, and it has never been before the Pharmacy Compounding Advisory Committee. The FDA has never published a safety-risk finding about it. No finding against it is not a finding for it; it has simply not been evaluated. It remains a compounded, prescription-only medication.

Can You Take 5-Amino-1MQ With Tirzepatide or Semaglutide?

Where to get it prescribed

  1. Complete a free online intake covering your history, every medication and supplement you take (including any GLP-1), and what you want help with.
  2. A physician licensed in your state reviews it, usually within 24 hours.
  3. If it is appropriate, a PCAB-accredited, FDA-registered US 503A compounding pharmacy prepares each medication to that prescription. Lot test results are published at /quality/lab-results.
  4. Each ships refrigerated with ice packs, with sterile syringes, alcohol prep pads and your directions printed on the vial.
  5. Your care team stays reachable for questions and side effects.

Pepti is cash-pay and does not bill insurance. Step by step: how to get 5-Amino-1MQ prescribed and how to get tirzepatide prescribed. Bloodwork is not required for any Pepti treatment. If your physician wants labs for your care, they'll ask through your account.
