How we keep treatment safe

Three safeguards behind every prescription.

Licensed-physician review

Every prescription request is reviewed by a physician licensed in your state. A provider — not an algorithm — decides whether a treatment is appropriate for you, based on your intake, history, and any lab work.

Contraindication screening

Your intake screens for medical history, current medications, allergies, and conditions that would make a treatment unsafe. Incomplete or inconsistent answers can result in a request being declined.

FDA-registered pharmacies

Prescriptions are dispensed by independent, state-licensed pharmacies, including FDA-registered 503A compounding pharmacies. Compounded medications are not FDA-approved.

Before you start treatment

An honest, complete intake is the single most important thing you can do for your own safety. Your provider relies on what you share to decide whether a treatment is right for you.

✓Disclose all current medications, supplements, and prior reactions — including anything you take occasionally.

✓Tell your provider if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding.

✓Share any history of cancer, thyroid disease, pancreatitis, gallbladder disease, kidney or liver problems, or mental-health conditions.

✓Follow the dose, schedule, and administration instructions your provider gives you — do not adjust them on your own.

✓Store and handle your medication exactly as directed, and never share it with anyone else.

About compounded medications

Many Pepti treatments are compounded at FDA-registered 503A pharmacies. Compounded medications are prepared for an individual patient based on a prescription and are not FDA-approved — they have not undergone the FDA review process for safety and effectiveness for a specific use. A licensed provider determines whether a compounded treatment is appropriate for you, and results may vary from person to person.

When to seek emergency care

Stop and call 911 if this happens.

Stop your medication and seek immediate medical attention — call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room — if you experience any of the following:

!Signs of a serious allergic reaction: swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat; trouble breathing or swallowing; severe rash; fainting; very rapid heartbeat.

!Severe, persistent abdominal pain (possible pancreatitis), with or without vomiting.

!A lump or swelling in the neck, hoarseness, or trouble swallowing.

!Severe or persistent vomiting, diarrhea, or signs of dehydration.
