pepti Is Not a Pharmacy
pepti LLC is a technology platform and is not a pharmacy. pepti does not dispense medication. If a licensed provider approves treatment, your prescription is fulfilled by an independent, licensed U.S. pharmacy.
Licensed U.S. Compounding Pharmacies
Compounded medications prescribed through the platform are prepared and dispensed by independent FDA-registered 503A or 503B compounding pharmacies that are licensed in the state where the medication is dispensed. Each medication is compounded pursuant to a valid prescription written for an individual patient.
What a 503A Compounding Pharmacy Is
A 503A compounding pharmacy prepares medications for individual patients under section 503A of the Federal Food, Drug & Cosmetic Act. In practice that means: every medication is made pursuant to a patient-specific prescription from a licensed prescriber — never batch-sold without one; the pharmacy is licensed and inspected by its state board of pharmacy; the pharmacy is registered with the FDA; and a licensed pharmacist is legally accountable for what leaves the building.
Compounded medications are not FDA-approved — that is true of all compounding, at every pharmacy in the country. They are regulated through the state-board and federal framework above, and a licensed physician determines whether a compounded medication is appropriate for each individual patient.

Accreditation: PCAB, ACHC & NABP
Fulfillment runs through PCAB-accredited pharmacies. PCAB — the Pharmacy Compounding Accreditation Board, administered by ACHC (Accreditation Commission for Health Care) — is the compounding industry's independent quality standard. Accreditation requires rigorous third-party inspection of:
- Quality and safety processes, verified by independent inspectors
- Cleanliness and sterile compounding procedures
- Proper ingredient sourcing and documentation
- Accurate dosing and formulation
- Staff training, competency, and standard operating procedures
Partner pharmacies additionally operate under NABP (National Association of Boards of Pharmacy) standards and the licensing requirements of every state into which they dispense.
Quality, Sterility & Beyond-Use Dating
Sterile injectable medications are compounded under sterile-processing standards in inspected cleanroom facilities. Each prescription is prepared to the prescriber's exact specification, labeled with the ingredients, strength, and directions specific to your prescription, and assigned a beyond-use date (BUD) — the date after which the preparation should not be used. The BUD is set by the pharmacy for each specific preparation and printed on your label; across the current formulary it ranges from 45 days to 180 days after first puncture depending on the medication and format. Your refill schedule is designed around that dating so medication is used within its window.
Every batch is independently tested before release. In addition to sterile compounding, each medication batch dispensed through Pepti is tested by a qualified third-party laboratory before the pharmacy releases it, to the same release standard used by 503B outsourcing facilities. Testing covers sterility (USP <71>), bacterial endotoxins (USP <85>), potency by assay, purity by HPLC, identity by mass spectrometry, pH (USP <791>), particulate matter (USP <788>), and container closure integrity (USP <1207>).

The pharmacy that fulfills your prescription is selected based on your state, the medication prescribed, licensing, and pharmacy availability and capacity. Pharmacy choice and availability may vary over time and from one patient to another. pepti may add, change, or discontinue partner pharmacies.
