AOD-9604 Dosage: How Pepti Prescribes It, in Units, mL and mg
This page explains the AOD-9604 dosage Pepti prescribes, what the units on the syringe mean, a dosage chart that converts units to millilitres and milligrams, the doses the human trials used and why they are not your dose, when AOD-9604 is taken, how long a vial lasts, what can change your directions, and the side effects to know about. It covers how Pepti's AOD-9604 is typically prescribed, not dosing protocols from the internet. Nothing here is a reason to change your own dose.

At Pepti, AOD-9604 is prescribed as 0.25 mL, which is 25 units on a U-100 insulin syringe, injected under the skin once daily Monday through Friday. The vial is 5 mL at 2 mg/mL, so each dose carries 0.5 mg of AOD-9604 and the vial holds 20 doses, about four weeks. Your physician sets your directions after reviewing your intake, and your exact dose and units are printed on the vial. The SHRED and PHYSIQ blends use the same 25 unit draw and deliver the same 0.5 mg of AOD-9604 per dose, alongside other peptides.

Every price is all-in, covering medication, physician review, refill management and shipping, with no separate membership fee. Pepti is cash-pay and does not bill insurance. These are the typical printed directions; your own directions are the ones on your vial.
AOD-9604 Dosage
AOD-9604 dosage in units, mL and mg
Pepti's directions are written in two forms, millilitres and units, because prescriptions are written in millilitres and insulin syringes are marked in units. On a U-100 insulin syringe, 1 unit is 0.01 mL, so 100 units is 1 mL and 25 units is 0.25 mL. A unit is a volume mark on the barrel, not a measure of how strong the medication is. People often search for "AOD-9604 units" or "how many mcg of AOD-9604", and the answer to both depends on the concentration printed on the label.
The milligram figure comes from that concentration. Pepti's AOD-9604 is supplied at 2 mg/mL, so:
| What you read | Value | Where it comes from |
|---|---|---|
| Dose volume | 0.25 mL | Printed on the vial |
| On a U-100 insulin syringe | 25 units | 0.25 mL x 100 units per mL |
| Concentration | 2 mg/mL | Printed on the vial |
| AOD-9604 per dose | 0.5 mg (500 mcg) | 2 mg/mL x 0.25 mL |
| Total in the vial | 10 mg in 5 mL | Printed on the vial |
| Doses per vial | 20 | 5 mL divided by 0.25 mL |
That arithmetic is a way to read a label, not a way to set a dose. A vial labelled 10 mg is not a 10 mg dose: it is twenty 0.5 mg doses. If your label and your syringe seem to disagree, do not dose; message your care team. How long does a peptide vial last explains every number on a vial label in more detail.
AOD-9604 Dosage
AOD-9604 dosage chart: units to mL to mg
Online AOD-9604 charts quote doses in micrograms, milligrams and units interchangeably, and the numbers only line up if you know the concentration. The chart below is the conversion for a 2 mg/mL vial, drawn with a U-100 insulin syringe. It is math only. It is not a menu of doses, and the only line that applies to you is the one that matches the number printed on your vial.
| Syringe mark (U-100) | Volume | AOD-9604 from a 2 mg/mL vial |
|---|---|---|
| 5 units | 0.05 mL | 0.1 mg (100 mcg) |
| 10 units | 0.1 mL | 0.2 mg (200 mcg) |
| 15 units | 0.15 mL | 0.3 mg (300 mcg) |
| 20 units | 0.2 mL | 0.4 mg (400 mcg) |
| 25 units (Pepti's typical directions) | 0.25 mL | 0.5 mg (500 mcg) |
| 30 units | 0.3 mL | 0.6 mg (600 mcg) |
| 40 units | 0.4 mL | 0.8 mg (800 mcg) |
| 50 units | 0.5 mL | 1 mg |
| 100 units | 1 mL | 2 mg |
The rule behind every row: units divided by 100 gives millilitres, and millilitres multiplied by 2 gives milligrams. The same conversion applies to the AOD-9604 in the SHRED and PHYSIQ blends, because both carry AOD-9604 at 2 mg/mL. In a blend, every draw delivers all four peptides together in fixed proportion; there is no way to take more of one and less of another from the same vial.
A chart from another source, written for a different concentration, gives different milligram figures for the same units. Research-use vials sold online are often a powder you are expected to mix yourself, so the concentration depends on how much water was added. That is the main reason not to dose from a chart, including this one. Pepti vials are multi-dose solutions shipped ready to use, so the concentration on the label is the concentration in the vial.
AOD-9604 Dosage
How long an AOD-9604 vial lasts
At Pepti's typical directions, one 10 mg vial lasts four weeks:
| Step | Value |
|---|---|
| Dose | 25 units, 0.25 mL, 0.5 mg |
| Doses per week | 5 (Monday through Friday) |
| AOD-9604 per week | 2.5 mg |
| Doses per vial | 20 (5 mL divided by 0.25 mL) |
| AOD-9604 used | 20 x 0.5 mg = 10 mg, the whole vial |
| Time per vial | 20 doses divided by 5 per week = 4 weeks |
Four weeks is why refills run every 28 days, one vial per fill. Vials ship refrigerated with ice packs, with sterile syringes and alcohol prep pads. Nothing is mixed at home. Keep the vial in the fridge between doses, and follow the beyond-use date printed on the label, which runs from first puncture. How to store peptides covers storage.
If a vial runs short before the refill, message your care team rather than adjusting anything yourself. If you miss a dose, follow your directions and do not take two doses to make up for one.

When to take AOD-9604
Once daily, Monday through Friday
Pepti's AOD-9604 directions say once daily Monday through Friday. The five-days-on, two-days-off pattern is a prescribing convention rather than something derived from the trials, which used daily oral tablets. It is common across peptide protocols, gives injection sites a rest, and makes the vial arithmetic clean: 20 doses at five a week is exactly four weeks. Weekends off are part of the schedule, not missed doses.
Time of day
The standalone AOD-9604 label does not name a time of day. Some prescribers direct the injection in the morning before eating, on the theory that it fits the fasted-state fatty-acid changes seen in the intravenous studies. That is a rationale, not a trial result. If your label names a time, follow it. The PHYSIQ Blend label does name one, nights at bedtime, because it also contains tesamorelin, and the largest natural growth hormone pulse happens in the first hours of deep sleep.
Under the skin
Subcutaneous means into the fat layer, not the muscle. Abdomen and thigh are the usual sites, rotated so the same spot is not used repeatedly. Technique is covered in how to inject peptides safely.

AOD-9604 Dosage
What the trials used, and why that is not your dose
AOD-9604 is unusual among compounded peptides because it has been through randomised, placebo-controlled human trials: six of them, run in Australia between roughly 2001 and 2007 by the company that developed it, Metabolic Pharmaceuticals, enrolling close to 900 people. The doses in those trials are often quoted online as if they were injection protocols. They were not:
| Study | Who | How it was dosed |
|---|---|---|
| Intravenous dose-escalation study | 15 men | Intravenous, rising doses |
| Second intravenous study | 23 men | Intravenous |
| Two short oral studies | 17 and 36 men | Oral tablets |
| 12-week oral study (conference abstract) | 300 men and women with obesity | Oral, one of five daily doses, or placebo |
| OPTIONS | 536 adults with obesity enrolled, 502 randomised | Oral 0.25 mg, 0.5 mg or 1 mg once daily, or placebo, for 24 weeks, on top of a supervised diet and exercise program |
Two things matter about that table. First, every trial used oral or intravenous AOD-9604. There is no published human trial of the subcutaneous injection that is actually prescribed, which the FDA specifically noted in its 2024 review. An oral milligram and an injected milligram are not interchangeable, so the 0.5 mg in the OPTIONS trial and the 0.5 mg in a Pepti dose share a number, not an evidence base. Second, OPTIONS, the largest and best-designed trial, did not find statistically significant weight loss versus placebo, and on 21 February 2007 the company ended development for obesity.
The honest reading is that there is no human dose-ranging study for injected AOD-9604. The schedule in common use comes from prescribing convention and the vial arithmetic, not from a trial. That is why your directions come from a physician who has reviewed your intake, not from a study table. The full trial history is in what is AOD-9604, and the evidence benefit by benefit is in AOD-9604 benefits.
AOD-9604 Dosage
AOD-9604 in the SHRED and PHYSIQ blends
Both blends contain 10 mg of AOD-9604 in a 5 mL vial, the same 2 mg/mL concentration as the standalone vial, so the AOD-9604 per dose is identical. What changes is everything else in the draw.
| AOD-9604 | SHRED | PHYSIQ | |
|---|---|---|---|
| AOD-9604 per 25 unit dose | 0.5 mg | 0.5 mg | 0.5 mg |
| Also in each dose | Nothing | 0.3 mg CJC-1295, 0.5 mg ipamorelin, 0.5 mg MOTS-c | 0.5 mg tesamorelin, 0.5 mg ipamorelin, 0.5 mg MOTS-c |
| Typical schedule | Once daily, Monday through Friday | Once daily, Monday through Friday | Monday through Friday nights at bedtime |
| Acts on the growth hormone axis | No | Yes, through CJC-1295 and ipamorelin | Yes, through tesamorelin and ipamorelin |
| Price | $229/mo | $279/mo | $289/mo |
AOD-9604 on its own leaves the growth hormone axis alone: cell work reports it does not bind the growth hormone receptor, and the human trials reported no change in IGF-1. Both blends deliberately pair it with peptides that do act on that axis. No study has tested either blend as a blend. A single-agent vial is the simpler option if your physician wants to see what one compound does before adding others. The blends are compared in PHYSIQ vs SHRED vs TITAN, and each is covered in what is SHRED and what is PHYSIQ.

What changes the directions
Your physician sets your directions after reviewing your intake. Things that can lead to different directions, or a different product, include:
| What can change | How it shows up |
|---|---|
| AOD-9604 alone or in a blend | SHRED and PHYSIQ each have their own label, and PHYSIQ's names bedtime |
| What you are trying to achieve | A goal with stronger human evidence behind another medication may lead to a different product |
| Your medical history | Pregnancy or breastfeeding, where it is not used; anything else on your intake |
| Your other medications | There is no established interaction list, so the intake asks for everything you take |
| How you respond | Anything persistent or unexpected goes to your physician, who may revise your directions |
| Tested sport | AOD-9604 is prohibited at all times under the WADA List |
When directions change, the new numbers are printed on the new label. Never carry a number over from a previous fill. Bloodwork is not required for any Pepti treatment. If your physician wants labs for your care, they'll ask through your account.

Side effects, in summary
AOD-9604 has more human safety data than most compounded peptides, because of the six company trials. The full picture is in AOD-9604 side effects.
| What is reported | Where it comes from | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Injection-site redness, mild soreness, occasional bruising | What prescribers report with the injection | Rotate sites |
| Headache, fatigue, dizziness, low blood sugar | The intravenous trials | Report it if it persists |
| Headache, diarrhea, flatulence, increased appetite, nausea | The oral trials, more so at the highest dose | Report it if it persists |
| A reaction that is severe, spreading, or involves difficulty breathing | Rare | Emergency care first, then tell your physician |
In the trials, adverse events were similarly distributed between AOD-9604 and placebo, IGF-1 did not change, glucose tolerance was not impaired, and no anti-AOD-9604 antibodies were detected in the subjects tested. The longest trial ran 24 weeks, and no trial used the subcutaneous route.
AOD-9604 has no FDA-approved product. On 4 December 2024 the FDA's Pharmacy Compounding Advisory Committee voted 0 to 12 against adding it to the 503A Bulks List for obesity; that is a recommendation, and the FDA has not issued a final rule. It is legal for a physician to prescribe and a licensed pharmacy to compound, and compounded medications are not FDA approved. Tested athletes should know the WADA List names AOD-9604 under S2.2.3 as a growth hormone fragment, prohibited at all times.

Where to get AOD-9604 prescribed
AOD-9604 cannot be bought legitimately without a prescription. Sites selling it "for research use only" are not accountable for what is in the vial: identity, purity, sterility and concentration are untested, so even the concentration your units chart depends on is unknown. The prescription route:
- Complete a free online intake covering your history, medications and what you want help with.
- A physician licensed in your state reviews it, usually within 24 hours.
- If it is appropriate, a PCAB-accredited, FDA-registered US 503A compounding pharmacy prepares it to that prescription. Lot test results are published at /quality/lab-results.
- It ships refrigerated with your directions printed on the vial.
- Your physician stays reachable for questions and dose changes.

Common questions
AOD-9604 Dosage, answered.
At Pepti, AOD-9604 is typically prescribed as 0.25 mL, which is 25 units on a U-100 insulin syringe, injected subcutaneously once daily Monday through Friday. From the 2 mg/mL vial that is 0.5 mg per dose. Your physician sets your directions after reviewing your intake, and your exact dose is printed on the vial.
The amount printed on your vial, on the schedule printed on your vial. Pepti's typical directions are 25 units five days a week, but your own directions are set by your physician after reviewing your intake. If you have questions about your dose, message your care team.
The number printed on your vial. Pepti's typical directions are 25 units, which is 0.25 mL on a U-100 insulin syringe, where 1 unit is 0.01 mL.
From a 2 mg/mL vial, 0.5 mg, which is 500 mcg. 10 units is 200 mcg and 50 units is 1 mg. Those figures only hold at 2 mg/mL; a different concentration gives different amounts for the same units.
The chart above converts units to millilitres to milligrams for a 2 mg/mL vial, the concentration Pepti supplies. It is a conversion, not a list of doses to choose from. Your own label is the one that applies.
Pepti's standalone AOD-9604 directions say once daily Monday through Friday without naming a time. Some prescribers direct it in the morning before eating, based on the fatty-acid changes seen in the intravenous studies. The PHYSIQ Blend label says nights at bedtime. Follow the time on your label if it names one.
About four weeks. A 10 mg vial at 25 units (0.5 mg) five days a week is 20 injections, which uses the whole 10 mg in four weeks, matching the 28-day refill.
The largest trial, OPTIONS, gave 0.25 mg, 0.5 mg or 1 mg of oral AOD-9604 once daily for 24 weeks, and did not find significant weight loss versus placebo. Every trial used oral or intravenous dosing; no human trial has used the subcutaneous injection. Those trial doses are not a guide to an injected dose.
No. Both blends carry AOD-9604 at 2 mg/mL, so the 25 unit draw delivers the same 0.5 mg. Each draw also delivers the other peptides in the blend, and the PHYSIQ label specifies bedtime.
No. Take the dose printed on your vial, on the schedule printed on your vial. No human study has tested injected AOD-9604 at any dose, so there is no evidence that more does more. If you have questions about your dose, message your care team.
