Can You Take Selank With Tirzepatide or Semaglutide?

This page covers what each medication does, where they meet, the anxiety-like GLP-1 effects worth ruling out first, psychiatric medication, the Selank blends, and how the two schedules fit.

Selank (Injectable)
Selank$229/mo

Selank can be prescribed alongside tirzepatide or semaglutide: Selank is described around GABA signalling and stress reactivity, tirzepatide acts on appetite and gastric emptying, and no interaction between them is described, though nobody has studied the pairing. The point that matters most is the order of questions. If you started feeling anxious after starting a GLP-1, some GLP-1 side effects, such as low blood sugar, dizziness and a faster heart rate, can feel like anxiety, and those need reporting to your care team before anyone adds a second medication. Selank's own early effects (fatigue or a flat feeling, or occasionally feeling wired) also overlap with how a GLP-1 can make you feel in the first weeks. Everything on this page applies to semaglutide the same way.

Two medications doing unrelated jobs

Selank

Selank is a seven-amino-acid peptide built from tuftsin, a fragment of immunoglobulin G, with a Pro-Gly-Pro tail added to slow its breakdown. The mechanism most often cited is at the GABA-A receptor: a 2018 paper in Protein and Peptide Letters, using rat brain-cell membranes, reported that Selank changed how GABA itself bound, in the manner of a positive allosteric modulator. An older line of work describes it slowing the breakdown of enkephalins. It is not a benzodiazepine, and its Russian trials, which compared it with benzodiazepines, reported no sedation, memory impairment, dependence or withdrawal over the study periods. Those trials used the intranasal Russian product. See what is Selank.

Tirzepatide

Tirzepatide activates the GIP and GLP-1 receptors. It acts on appetite centres in the brain, slows gastric emptying and changes insulin and glucagon signalling, and it is dosed once a week. See what is tirzepatide.

Selank Tirzepatide
Described target GABA-A receptor modulation, enkephalin breakdown GIP and GLP-1 receptors
Described around Stress reactivity and anxiety Appetite, gastric emptying, insulin and glucagon
Acts on appetite? Not described to Yes, its main action
Human evidence Small Russian trials of the intranasal product, none placebo-controlled Large randomised trials of the approved product
Schedule Weekdays Once weekly

Rule out the GLP-1 first

People sometimes ask about Selank because they started feeling anxious after starting a GLP-1. Pepti's references do not list anxiety or depression among tirzepatide's side effects, and for semaglutide a large 2024 Nature Medicine cohort of over 240,000 people reported lower rates of suicidal thoughts than on other weight-management drugs; the suicidal-behavior warning on the approved semaglutide weight-management label was removed in February 2026. But several physical GLP-1 effects produce sensations that feel like anxiety.

What you feel A possible GLP-1 cause What to do
Shakiness, sweating, confusion Low blood sugar, mainly with insulin or a sulfonylurea Treat it, then report it
Dizziness, light-headedness on standing Low blood pressure or dehydration Drink enough; same-day call if you cannot keep fluids down
A faster resting heart rate, palpitations A small heart-rate rise on the labels Report palpitations at rest
Tiredness, low energy Eating and drinking too little Report it if it persists
A knotted, queasy stomach Slower gastric emptying Smaller meals; report it

Describe exactly what you feel and when, so your care team can tell these apart. Adding Selank to treat what is actually low blood sugar or dehydration would miss the cause. More is in GLP-1 anxiety and depression.

Where Selank and a GLP-1 overlap

Early fatigue or a flat feeling

Some people describe fatigue or a flat, low-drive feeling in the first days of Selank, usually settling. On tirzepatide, fatigue was reported by 5 to 7% against 3% on placebo, and on semaglutide by 11% against 5%, often linked to eating and drinking less early on. Starting both in the same week makes tiredness impossible to place.

Feeling wired

A small number of people report feeling wired on Selank, and a 2008 Russian trial described it as mildly activating. A faster heart rate on a GLP-1 can feel similar. Report either if it persists.

Effect On Selank On tirzepatide or semaglutide What to do
Fatigue or a flat feeling Some people, first days, usually settling Fatigue is a listed side effect Start on different dates; report it if it persists
Feeling wired A small number of people A faster heart rate can feel similar Report palpitations at rest
Nausea Not a main described effect The most common side effect Message your care team if it affects eating
Injection-site reactions The commonest complaint 6 to 8% on tirzepatide against 2% Rotate sites
A marked change in mood Not a described effect, always reportable The labels advise monitoring for mood changes Contact your physician promptly; 988 or 911 if you feel unsafe

Psychiatric medication

If you take an SSRI, SNRI, benzodiazepine or antipsychotic, or have been diagnosed with panic disorder, bipolar disorder or major depression, that treatment comes first, and Selank is at most an adjunct that your prescriber may or may not agree to. There are no interaction studies of Selank with SSRIs, SNRIs, stimulants or antipsychotics. Never stop or reduce a psychiatric medication to make room for Selank or to help a GLP-1 work.

Two more points connect the three. Several antidepressants and antipsychotics are described in reviews as promoting weight gain, which can be part of why weight is hard to shift. And a GLP-1 slows stomach emptying, which can change how quickly oral medications are absorbed in the first weeks after starting or increasing the dose. List every medication on your intake, and if another prescriber manages your mood, tell them you have started a GLP-1 and Selank. An active eating disorder is a situation where a GLP-1 is usually avoided; say so on the intake if it applies.

Can You Take Selank With Tirzepatide or Semaglutide?

If your Selank is in a blend

Blend What else is in it What it adds alongside a GLP-1
SERENITY DSIP, CJC-1295, ipamorelin Ipamorelin acts at the ghrelin receptor, so some people notice more appetite; growth-hormone-axis peptides put glucose on the watch list
ELEVATE Semax, BPC-157, KPV BPC-157 and KPV are not treatments for GLP-1 stomach side effects
SYNAPSE Semax, MOTS-c, tesamorelin Tesamorelin reduces insulin sensitivity while GLP-1s act the other way, so glucose is watched

The blends carry Selank at 1 mg/mL, so the same 25 unit draw holds 0.25 mg rather than 0.5 mg. Never take Selank alone on top of a blend that contains it without your physician knowing. See what is the SERENITY blend, what is the ELEVATE blend and what is the SYNAPSE blend.

How the two schedules fit together

Selank Tirzepatide
Draw 0.25 mL (25 units) on a U-100 insulin syringe 0.50 mL (50 units) at every strength
Per dose 0.5 mg Selank (2 mg/mL vial) Depends on the vial strength, 2.5 mg to 15 mg
When Once daily, Monday through Friday Once weekly
Doses per vial 20, about four weeks 4, four weeks
Refills Every 28 days, one vial per fill Every 28 days, one vial per fill

The schedules are independent, and there is no described need to separate them by hours. Use a separate fresh syringe for each and never draw both into one. Dosing detail is in Selank dosage and tirzepatide dosing chart. Never change either dose yourself.

Can You Take Selank With Tirzepatide or Semaglutide?

What not to combine

Combination Why not
Tirzepatide with semaglutide or any other GLP-1 Same receptor system, stacked side effects, no mechanism gained
Selank alone plus a blend containing Selank Changes the Selank dose without a decision to change it
Selank in place of a prescribed psychiatric medication That treatment comes first; never stop it on your own
Two of your vials in one syringe Neither label describes the mixture
Starting Selank in the same week as a GLP-1 dose increase Tiredness and mood changes become impossible to place
Anything sold "for research use only" Nobody is accountable for identity, purity, sterility or concentration

Can You Take Selank With Tirzepatide or Semaglutide?

Semaglutide works the same way

Everything above applies to semaglutide. It acts at the GLP-1 receptor only, where tirzepatide acts at two, but its anxiety-like effects are the same kind: low blood sugar with insulin or a sulfonylurea, dizziness, a small rise in resting heart rate, and fatigue in the early weeks. Its label's suicidal-behavior warning was removed in February 2026. Semaglutide and tirzepatide are never taken together. See semaglutide side effects.

Can You Take Selank With Tirzepatide or Semaglutide?

What the evidence shows, honestly

Selank's trials are small, 60 to 70 patients each, all from the groups that developed it, none placebo-controlled, none longer than weeks, none by injection, and none replicated outside Russia. A 2021 review in the Journal of Clinical Pharmacology described it as poorly studied outside its country of origin. Selank acetate was placed in Category 2 of the FDA's 503A list in 2023 and removed on 27 September 2024 after the nominator said it had intended to nominate a different substance.

There is no study of Selank with a GLP-1, and no study of Selank for anxiety that started on a GLP-1. What can be said is that the two act on unrelated systems, no interaction is described, and the overlaps are early tiredness, feeling wired, and GLP-1 side effects that can feel like anxiety. The fuller pictures are in Selank side effects and tirzepatide side effects, and pairings in general are in what peptides can you take with tirzepatide.

How to add Selank to a GLP-1 properly

  1. Report new anxiety first. If it started with the GLP-1, your care team needs to know before anything is added.
  2. List every medication. Especially psychiatric medication, stimulants, sedatives, insulin and sulfonylureas.
  3. Start one thing at a time. Begin Selank away from a GLP-1 dose increase.
  4. Report what happens, including nothing. Your care team is reachable through your account.

Bloodwork is not required for any Pepti treatment. If your physician wants labs for your care, they'll ask through your account.

Where to get Selank prescribed

  1. Complete a free online intake covering your history, including mental health history, and every medication you take.
  2. A physician licensed in your state reviews it, usually within 24 hours.
  3. If it is appropriate, a PCAB-accredited, FDA-registered US 503A compounding pharmacy prepares it to that prescription. Lot test results are published at /quality/lab-results.
  4. It ships refrigerated with ice packs, with sterile syringes and alcohol prep pads, and your directions printed on the vial.
  5. Your care team stays reachable for side effects and mood changes. Refills run every 28 days, one vial per fill.
