Your protocol

How Melanotan II is prescribed.

Who it's for
  • Adults seeking a deeper tan with less sun exposure
  • Patients who understand this is not FDA-approved and carries real side effects

Your physician decides whether Melanotan II is appropriate for you after reviewing your intake and labs.

Directions & duration

Inject 0.25 mL (25 units) subcutaneously once daily Monday through Friday.

Cycle. A loading phase then a lower maintenance dose, at your physician's direction. Sun protection still required.
Ready for more? When you're ready for more, ask your physician to double your dose. If approved, the extra vial is billed at cost and applied to your next fill.

The science

How Melanotan II works, and what the research shows.

How it works

Melanotan II is a synthetic analog of alpha-MSH that stimulates melanocytes to produce melanin.

Provides natural-looking pigmentation with minimal UV exposure.

Clinical evidence
  • Melanotan II went through early human dose-finding studies in the 1990s at the University of Arizona, demonstrating increased skin pigmentation, and separate small trials showed erectile responses — work that led to the FDA-approved derivative bremelanotide (Vyleesi).

Wessells et al., J Urol 1998
  • Melanotan II itself was never brought through full clinical development, so modern controlled safety and efficacy data are lacking.
